introducing the pelvic bra®…an innovative external support wear for prolapse and urinary incontinence
Pelvic Bra® – External Pelvic Floor
Supportwear
As a Pelvic Health physiotherapist, I am excited to introduce the Pelvic Bra® to women in New Zealand. This innovative external support garment is designed to provide discreet, comfortable lift and support to the pelvic floor during the times you need it most.
How It Works
The pelvic floor acts like a supportive hammock, stretching from the pubic bone to the tailbone. It helps hold up the bladder, uterus, and rectum.
The Pelvic Bra® provides gentle external lift from underneath — functioning like a second supportive hammock. It offers a non-surgical, external support option that may help women feel more comfortable and confident while navigating their pelvic health journey.
This makes it a non-invasive option for women seeking additional support during exercise, long days on their feet, or periods of increased symptoms.
It may be worn:
As a non-invasive support option for women managing prolapse or stress urinary incontinence
Prior to planned surgery to help reduce symptom severity
Alongside a vaginal pessary for additional external support
Following pelvic floor or prolapse surgery, where appropriate, to provide added external reinforcement during recovery
Who May Benefit?
The Pelvic Bra® may assist women experiencing:
A feeling of vaginal bulge or prolapse symptoms
Pelvic pressure or heaviness
Urinary leakage
Pelvic discomfort or dragging sensations
It is designed to complement pelvic floor rehabilitation and support your active lifestyle.
Key Features
Reinforced Support Hammock
The central hammock panel includes multi-directional reinforcement to provide targeted lift and stability exactly where support is needed.
It offers firm yet discreet support to the vulvar and perineal region — without visible bulk.
Invisible Under Clothing
Designed in a thong style, the Pelvic Bra® eliminates visible panty lines, making it ideal under leggings, gym wear, and fitted clothing.
Your support stays private — only you know it's there.
Adjustable Contoured Waistband
The waistband is structured to provide lift while remaining flexible and comfortable.
It can be positioned higher on the waist for increased support or worn lower for lighter support. The adjustable hook system allows you to tailor the fit depending on your needs throughout the day.
4-Way “Bra-Style” Adjustability
With side hook closures similar to a bra, the waistband can be tightened or loosened easily.
This allows you to:
Increase support when symptoms flare
Allow more flexibility when comfort is preferred
No need to fully undress — simply adjust through your outer clothing.
Easy Removal
The side hook design means the Pelvic Bra® can be removed without taking off trousers or shoes.
Simply unhook both sides and slide it out — ideal for busy days or fluctuating support needs.
Smooth Front Gusset
The front panel is designed to sit smoothly under tight clothing, helping prevent creasing or visible lines.
Soft, Sweat-Wicking Fabric
The hammock portion is encased in moisture-wicking spandex that sits comfortably against delicate tissue.
The material is breathable, soft, and designed for all-day wear.
A Non-Invasive Support Option
The Pelvic Bra® offers an external alternative to internal devices, providing additional lift and support while you continue strengthening your pelvic floor.
If you're unsure whether it’s right for you, I’m happy to discuss it during your consultation.
A Game Changer in the world of pelvic organ prolapse
The Pelvic Bra® is a supportive tool — whether it will benefit you depends on factors such as prolapse severity, pelvic floor muscle function, connective tissue support, and your individual goals.
For this reason, personalised advice can only be provided following a comprehensive pelvic health assessment.
If you’re unsure, I recommend booking an appointment in clinic so we can assess properly and create a plan tailored to you.
Please note: Due to the volume of enquiries, clinical questions about individual suitability cannot be answered via social media or email.
