Breast Cancer

Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer to affect women in New Zealand.  In fact, 3300 women are diagnosed with breast cancer in New Zealand every year.

Treatments for breast cancer can include surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy and endocrine therapies. Any of these treatments may cause many patients to develop severe de-conditioning and fatigue and can then lead to significant negative impacts on quality of life. Restoring health is much more than just removing disease. Tracey can help guide and support you safely back to exercise.

Studies show that the majority of cancer survivors are living with physical problems from their treatment - these often go undetected and untreated. Physical impairments that may be relatively easily addressed if detected early can become difficult and costly to treat when they are left to progress over weeks, months and years. If you have any concerns please contact Tracey by clicking here and filling out the form at the bottom of the page.

If you have had recent surgery for breast cancer you may be eligible for up to four individual physiotherapy sessions  funded by The Breast Cancer Foundation NZ. Please follow this link to find out more information.  -  Physio for recovery
